Privacy Policy
Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how SuperDesktopWidgets (“the App”) handles information when you use it. The App is designed to work primarily offline. It does not require an account and does not include a server-side backend operated by the developer.
Information We Collect
The App does not collect or transmit personal data to a developer-controlled server.
- No account data: The App does not ask you to create an account.
- No analytics SDK: The App does not integrate third-party analytics by default.
- No advertising: The App does not serve ads.
Data Stored Locally on Your Device
To provide core functionality, the App stores certain settings and widget state locally on your Mac. This may include:
- Widget board layout (e.g., positions, sizes, types of widgets).
- App preferences (e.g., theme, status bar icon settings, shortcuts).
- Widget-specific content (e.g., note/todo text, timer settings, launcher selections).
Local storage is implemented using macOS local persistence mechanisms such as UserDefaults
and SwiftUI AppStorage.
Camera Permission (Mirror Widget)
If you use the Camera (Mirror) widget, the App may request access to your Mac’s camera. Camera access is used solely to display a live preview inside the widget.
- What the camera is used for: live preview in the Mirror widget.
- What we do not do: we do not record, store, upload, or share camera footage.
- Control: you can grant or revoke camera access at any time in macOS System Settings.
Third-Party Services
The App does not rely on developer-operated servers. If you interact with external apps or services via widgets (for example, launching other applications), that interaction is handled by macOS and the external app/service under their own terms and privacy policies.
Data Sharing
The App does not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties. Because the App does not send your personal data to a developer-controlled backend, there is no routine sharing of your data.
Security
We take reasonable measures to keep the App’s behavior privacy-friendly by minimizing data collection. Please note that no method of storage or transmission is 100% secure. The App stores data locally on your device, and its security is also influenced by your macOS configuration.
Children’s Privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top of this page.
