This Privacy Policy explains how Modern RSS Reader (“the App”) handles information when you use it. The App is a local RSS/Atom reader for macOS.

- The App connects to the internet only to fetch content from the feed URLs you add and the links you open.
Information the App Processes
Feed URLs and Content
When you add an RSS/Atom feed, the App stores the feed URL and downloads the feed data (XML) and related metadata (such as titles, links, publish dates, and summaries) so you can browse items later. This data is stored locally on your device (for example, using a local SQLite database).
Read/Unread State
The App stores read/unread status locally to support features like unread counts and “mark as read”.
Data Collection
The App does not collect personal information such as your name, email address, contacts, precise location, photos, or files. The App does not create user profiles.
Network Access
The App makes network requests in the following cases:
- To fetch RSS/Atom feed data from feed URLs you provide.
- To load article pages when you open them in the built-in web view or via the original link.
Your network requests are sent directly from your device to the feed publishers and websites you access. Those third parties may receive standard technical information (such as your IP address and user-agent) as part of normal internet communication.
Third-Party Services
The App does not integrate analytics, advertising SDKs, or tracking services by default. If you access third-party websites through the App (for example, when opening an article link), those websites’ own privacy policies apply.
Crash Reports and Diagnostics
The App does not include its own crash reporting service. Apple may collect diagnostic information depending on your macOS settings and whether you choose to share analytics with developers. This data is handled by Apple under Apple’s policies.
Data Retention and Deletion
The App stores feed and reading data locally until you delete it. You can remove a feed within the App, which deletes the associated local items. You can also remove the App to delete its local data (subject to macOS behavior and backups).
Children’s Privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to This Policy
This policy may be updated from time to time. The “Last updated” date above indicates when this policy was last revised.
